Summer is here, It's 100 degrees and I'm still knitting.

Usually by now I would be doing something else besides Knitting. Expecially when it is this hot outside. I am so addicted to knitting that I haven't put it down even though it is so hot outside. I haven't been feeling too well... so I stay inside more than usual and knitting makes me feel better. There is just something so soothing about knitting. I loose myself in it. Knitting has been there for me more and more lately. I don't know what I would do without it. I am making myself a comfort blanket right now. It is a wonderful lavender purple color and I am using the Gull lace pattern. I think that this will be my favorite possession when I am finished with it. I think it is probably the biggest project I have started yet but since it is a lace pattern it is going pretty quickly. I hope it turns out as good and I think it will.

Snow, Snow, Snow, Knit, Knit, Knit. :)

We have had more snow so far than I have seen in a long time. When it is snowing and cold outside I have to admit that my favorite place in the world is my favorite chair knitting something warm. Christmas is over and Santa was so good to me. He brought me the HiyaHiya needle sets, 2 of them the small ones and the large ones. I was so super excited, Thank you Santa. I also got a yarn baller. I am so blessed.

What I am working on: My Sweet 5 year old Nephew saw me finishing up a baby blanket for his new nephew. (His brother is 25, my brother spaced out his kids really far) He loved watching me make that blanket and he wanted to learn how to knit. I let him knit a few stitches until he got bored with it and looked at me and announced that his wife would know how to knit. This cracked me up. Next he got out his blanket and laid it on the floor and said look, my blanket fits me when I lay on it this way but if I lay on it the other way it doesn't fit me, Will you make me a blanket just like that one (the one I was knitting for the baby) only make it big on both sidesas my blanket? Which is about 5' x 5', so my friends that is what I am working on, it is taking me forever. I started it when I got home from Christmas vacation and I am about half way through. I need to get with it and finish his blanket. My nephew had ALL Leukemia and finished his last treatment about 2 weeks before Christmas so I guess I would do just about anything he asked me to.

Santa, I want interchangeable knitting needles

I would love to get a set of interchangeable knitting needles. It would be great to have so many needle choices in one set. I made a case for the needles I have and it is full, but my sister-in-law is learning how to knit so I will probably pass most of those needles on to her if I find a set. I have a few hiya hiya circular needles and I love them also I have 1 addi circular and it is nice too. I think I would be happy with just about any set. I have been looking around hoping that I will find a good set.
I have let my DH know that I would like to have a nice set for Christmas but I am hoping that I can find some at a good price online. Wish me luck. :0)

It's Fall Ya'll!

It's getting cooler and the leaves are starting to change. This is the time of year when I really get motivated to knit something new. I just finished an adorable baby sweater for my new nephew that is on the way. Now I am looking for something new to get started on. I love Ravelry.com and there is a endless sea of patterns to choose from, it is just hard for me to choose which one I am going to get started on. My daughter said she would love a sweater. It would be the first sweater for me, I usually stick with small projects. We will see.

It's been a long time!

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. I am so excited! today I found a LYS close to me. It is a nice little shop and has a nice owner, Karen. It was so nice to meet you Karen. I look forward to going in and meeting other people in my area that like to knit and knitting with them.

I am working on a pair of stormy purple Maizy socks. I am using the basic 9" hiya sock pattern from their website. Today I bought some light pink sock yarn and I am looking for a easy pattern for something fancy looking, like a lace pattern. I always just make a basic sock so I don't have to think much. I like the feeling of just knitting almost mindlessly, it is very relaxing but I think I am ready for a change. So if anybody reads this and has a suggestion please feel free to let me know. Thank you.

Socks, knit one...rip one...knit two.

I knit a sock and it was too small, I really love this self stripping yarn and I wanted these socks for myself. I thought about finishing them and then giving them to somebody whom they would fit but the more I thought about it the more I wanted them for myself so I ripped the first one out and used another pattern and now they are wonderful, they fit me so good. I am so glad that I went ahead and ripped out that first sock and started over.

I've got to get organized.

I have 2 huge storage boxes full of yarn. I am looking for ideas on how to store your knitting supplies with out such a mess. I have all of my knitting needles in a plastic bag right now, I do sew some and I have been meaning to sew something to store my needles in. I have a pencil bag that is made of mesh that I keep my small stuff in like my scissors and measuring tape, and I have a m&m mini's tube that I store my yarn needles in. I would love to have a small place that looks like a yarn store when I go to start a project
